Fajã Surf Labs is a surfboard shaping workshop in São Vicente, on Madeira's north coast. We shape custom surfboards for visiting and local surfers — from high-performance shortboards to fish, mid-lengths, longboards and fun shapes — built to your height, weight and the waves you ride.
CNC precision, finished by hand
A CNC machine cuts your blank to within ±0.5 mm of the final shape. Our shapers then refine the rails, concaves and foil by hand, glass on-site with your chosen schedule, and finish to a standard we're proud of. The result is a repeatable, dialled-in board with a hand-shaped feel.

How long does a custom surfboard take?+
We shape to order. Production is a few days plus curing and finishing, so we ask for at least three weeks before your arrival date to guarantee the board is ready.
Can I design my own board?+
Yes — use our online configurator to choose the board type, dimensions, construction, fins and finish. If you are not sure, message the shaper on WhatsApp and we will guide you.
Do I pick the board up in Madeira?+
Yes. Boards are shaped and collected at our workshop in São Vicente — no flying with a board, no travel damage, no oversize fees.
Do you shape epoxy and PU boards?+
Both. We build epoxy/EPS and traditional PU/polyester surfboards, matching the construction to how and where you surf.
