About the numbers
How accurate is it?+
The litres come from ShaperLab Pro: it built each Fajã Surf Shapes template at every point of a length × width × thickness grid and measured the real volume, and this tool interpolates between those points. For one of our shapes it is within a fraction of a litre. For another shaper’s board with the same measurements, rocker, rails and foil change the answer — expect it to be close, not exact.
My board has no volume written on it. Can I use this?+
Yes, that is what it is for. Measure the length tip to tip, the width at the widest point and the thickness at the thickest, pick the closest board type, tail and nose, and read the litres.
How do I measure width and thickness?+
Width: across the deck at the widest point, rail to rail. Thickness: at the thickest point, usually just ahead of the centre, with a straight edge on the deck and one under the bottom.
How many litres do I need?+
It depends on your weight, level and the waves. As a rough guide, an intermediate surfer rides around 40 % of their body weight in litres (75 kg → ~30 L); beginners more, advanced surfers less. Message us with your weight and level and we will give you a number.
